Come on out to Kentucky Mudworks for a closing recpeiton of the show Meet Mert! Didem will be at the closing reception, following a workshop at IU Southeast and Kentucky Country Day School, from 5-8 PM on Thursday, November 2nd from 5-8 PM. Come n' meet her, drink, eat, and add to your collection!
The show will be available for viewing and purchasing beginning on Tuedsay, October 17th.
Didem will have about 50 pieces on display including, but not limited to: mugs, cups, flasks, bowls, plates, vases, citrus juicers, jewelry, etc.

The studio is welcoming artist Didem Mert for a one day, demonstration based workshop this fall. During the demos she will create one mug, one ovaled snack bowl, one plate and one yunomi inspired form. Mert will apply terra sigillata and AMACO Velvet Underglaze to her pieces during the demo. Also included is a twenty- minute slide presentation and creating handbuilt functional pottery from soft slabs and coils using pinching techniques in addition to working with bisque molds.

Bagels and coffee will be provided for breakfast. A light lunch will also be provided. Students are welcome to pack a lunch.

"Join Artist Didem Mert in a hands-on, creative clay workshop. Mert will demonstrate using soft slabs within bisque slump molds to create her signature ovaled bowl forms. She will apply terra sigillata and AMACO Velvet Underglaze on the bowl to create a sense of playfulness directed through the color palette, while retaining a minimalistic design.
